one bright spot to this is that whoever did this will not have the seeds to ever come back to your facility. I know it sucks now but this karting community is too small for people to make thefts of this size and stay in the circle. It will come out.

2 things about the karting community:

    1. It is small

    2. Everyone speaks to everyone.

It is unfortunate that you and your family invest that much time and money to provide the coolest track in North America only to have people take advantage of it. There are also 2 types of people in the world. The ones that have the balls to go make themselves successful, and the ones that envy that success and take from you.

Wow, this must have really struck a nerve with me. I am pissed off!

    Stacey,

do the MG tires have a batch code on them like most other tires??? They show what batch from the factory they came from so they can control them. If so, then MG can give you that and they should be on the tires themselves. Then, you get the word out with the numbers and if there are tires sold with the batch number, and they were at the race or track, busted!!!!

    Just an idea,

    Richie

Ps, hope you get the wankers…

Mike Jansen. Your rib injury has not messed with your thinking. You are spot on.

Basically, Colorado karting is nothing more than this:

CSC is now the IMI series

RTR is now the Track series

and you have GJMS stuck in the middle wanting only to improve colorado karting and providing racing for both series. I along with a few others out there have been in karting since Skusa had a mountain region. I was just talking to a few of my friends who attended both initial rounds of each series and they said “Colorado karting has turned into a joke”. I hope I don’t offend anyone (theres a first) but the days of 20 125 pro shifters are gone.

Remember when the state final was held in Steamboat? That was soooooo much fun. We raced all the tracks all year and final at a neutral place.

The only solution to getting over the arguments and egos is to do the same thing that the majority of other series do. Form a group (like prokart challenge) and run a regional series. The same thing we did back in the day with SKUSA. Then, either rent the tracks or give a percentage of the earnings. Do you think Tom K owns the tracks that his series races at? Nope. And guess what? He pulls the racers.

Plus look at the poor shop owners. If your shop is close to track A and you decide to race series B, do you think testing and local racing will be an option in the future? No, because you supported the competition. So you then see a trickle down effect all the way to club level racing.

This is the most common two words at the race track lately: “Remember when?”

    Tony,

Is that still your italkart? If so, you can probably email Claudio or someone there and get the seat setup. Should have the top of the back seat no further than 10″ from the axle(better at 9″), use a ratchett strap under the chassis rails to sit the bottom of the seat flush with the bottom of the chassis, Find a point at the front of the chassis to measure each side of the seat bottom. side to side should be close but ok if the left front of the seat is a little closer to the front than the right (no more than 1/2″) When bending your seat mounts, use a long bar or old axle, and only a dead blow. If you need to bend the tabs, use a cresent wrench (SP?) and it should not break.

Sorry, bored and thought I would throw you into more confusion. Good luck buddy.

    Rick,

Hope your getting stronger every day! I plan on making it back to Colorado for a few races in 09 (as long as all of these series don’t split the entries).

You are right about Alan. He did help propel our program to another level. as did AJ Noud. You can see that in AJ’s program and success today. Alan was always so much fun to watch in anything he drove. And, the one cool thing about him, he never got nervous in ANYTHING. At Petite lemans at Road Atlanta, he was getting ready to crawl into the LMP2 car for his first stint. While we were helping him get his stuff on Kelly asked “are you nervous?” He simply replied, “Hell No, this is my job.” then crawled in the car and was picking people off like crazy (until the engine blew 3rd stint or so). That is exactly how he is in anything he races. From karts, race cars, or trying to scare me in rental cars, he never seemed rattled. That was the cool thing about watching him.

And most importantly, the image you see of him helping everyone and being kind is not an acting job. One of the coolest people with the biggest heart. The memories of being in Italy, racing in colorado, star mazda, everything. That is why I miss racing soooooo much. gotta hang out with a true friend every weekend.

See you all next year. (notice I did not type Y’all) NEVER!!!!!!!!

Don’t forget the juniors. They were in a battle for their lives every time they hit the track.

Mt hat is off to Sabre Cook. It was her first race of this caliber and some bonehead took her out on the out lap of qualifying. She had been running top 8 – 10 in practice. Shattered both wheels and bent the hell out of her kart. She handled it like a professional.

She had to start every heat race in 46th. She worked her way up to mid field or better every heat (those of you that saw the race realize how difficult that really was). Had a mid pack starting position only to get in a pile up of over half the field. After the red flag, they shortened the race to 12 laps due to safety. A solid 17th I think with Tyler Edwards driving an awsome 18th. watch that kid after he gets some experience. He is going to be a rocket.

The Jr class was not only one of the best classes to watch but also one of the most dangerous. Nowhere have I ever seen 49 karts be started in any race other then road racing. I feel bad because they didnt even get half of their main and I believe both sabre and tyler could have moved up. Sorry, I know there were other juniors from colorado there but it was so crazy that I could not keep track. they were the only ones I was watching for in all of the chaos.

Oh yeah and Stacey, you didn’t suck either.

Like doug said, they were not that good a few years ago. I think they were made in Taiwan and the distributor was Australian. You might check with Mike @ Grand products to see if he is still doing anything with them. He would know if there are any upgrades if he is still in the PRD game

I actually have a brand new chassis and ICC sitting in my garage awaiting to be put together. I also have a brand new DD2 package coming. I will definately be back this year. How much depends on how often I have to go overseas for business.

I do not know if I want to work hard enough to run shifter. I am pretty comfortable with my new winter physique.

let me know if you need anything else.
