Done this before….handling didn’t turn out so well for me considering I botched how far back to put the seat

At least you had it facing the right direction Chuck.

    Rick

    Imagine if i didnt! haha.

Yea I have the specs for the R30 chassis ( I have another Easykart).

It is a Ribtect seat….so i think there shouldnt be any difference than other seats correct?

    Thanks Rick!

IMO try on all of them and pick what fits you best.

Arai,Bell,Impact, Simpson would be my recommendations.

IMO the Bell GTX is a great value since it has a car rating.

I rock an Arai since I got a killer deal and it fit my face a lot better than the Bell.

I would personally consider getting one with the car rating….you might end up using it sometime.:)

That sucks about the shunt causing him to drop back. Keep the faith and don’t let any of those guys intimidate ya Dale.

BTW…I thought Skippie was getting new cars? Bridgestone (my old school) and Russell both got new ones…..

The Russell cars are ridiculous. 300hp turbo former Formula 3 cars!

How much money is worth 300 million peoples safety?? If you calculate that it comes out to less than a set of kart tires for a govt. agency to ensure your safety along with everyone elses in the nation to the best of their ability….. How well do you sleep??? There is your answer…

To be honest….I’d sleep a hell of a lot better if 150,000 troops were protecting us HERE and not 10,000 miles away. And to that argument of “fight them there, not here”. What the hell is stopping them from intergrating into our society HERE?

Did you see what just happened in New York? They can bomb us on buses, trains, subways, ANYWHERE!

And anyone things we’re actually SAFE?

What about that single crazy individual that almost got to our Gov. Bill Ritter and killed him last summer? What if he had a bomb strapped to him…..and a couple of buddies with Mack-10’s and full auto AK-47’s?

    Safety is an illusion…..

    Americans= Scared and Lazy

That’s why we don’t care when we give away all of our rights to be “safe”.

I know my rights….especially my 2nd Amendment. I’ll be damned if there will be an attack on this soil
without regular citizens being armed themselves (like me).

Homeland Security is a Joke. That money should be spent giving body armour to the Marines and Army service men and women…..not calling 14 yr old kids about karting parts.

I guess we’re all just a part of the machine. Either get on board or jump ship….(if it gets worse, I’m considering the latter).

FYI, we are budgeting almost $50 BILLION dollars in “Homeland” Security. And they can’t even look to see WHAT is being purchased overseas, not the AMOUNT.
Guess thats what you get when you have SUITS running the country (and our lives).

FY 2009 budget request for the Department of Homeland Security is $50.5 billion in funding; a. 7 percent increase over the FY 2008 enacted level excluding …

Roman ran a M helmet which does have a wider field of vision for a few years.

His latest helmet has less peripheral ability. I like it better, he has been coached to look ahead. Drivers who turn to look behind them have picked up a bad habit. (you know it’s true Aj) The fast way around the track is in front of you and there is still plenty of view to see a challenge for a pass. Roman likes it better too. Plus, you should feel where competitors are around you.

Many drag racers tape their visors to keep their attention on what they are doing. I know they don’t pass each other, but it’s kind of the same concept.

    Just some thoughts.

    Highly recommend Rick’s suggestions.

Do you think you’ll move to cars or at least race one? Definately get a car rated one.
I didn’t and couldn’t use my Arai SK-5 when I went up to Canada to race Formula Fords.

Also, you definately don’t want a motorcycle style for karts IMO….simply for the perhiperhal vision issue.
You really want to look as far down the track as possible and use your p-vision for reference. It’s much harder with a lot
more info. going to your eyes.

Only instance where you WOULD want it would be going to closed-cockpit cars where you’d like a little more vision since you can’t see as well out of them.

IMO the best value are a Bell GTX, some of the Simpson’s are really light and nice (was very surprised by them).
I use an Arai GP5-K…..it just fits better.

They all fit diff….I say pick one of those…and use the Bell if you fit it well ( i didn’t) since I think at $429.00 or whatever its a tremendous value for a helmet than can do karts/cars.

You want it as “Snug” as possible without being “uncomfortable”. Movement within the helmet would suck big time….almost as sucky as Orion’s polyester suit soaked in a bunch of MS98 sitting next to a campfire! haha.

As long as it doesn’t snow, I’ll be in that seat for ya buddy.
50 is warm compared to crappy/rainy/windy 40 degree days in Formula cars in canada 😆 :rotate: :loony:

Wish you had a really steep driveway………that worked like a charm when I would get up at 5:30am to go to CRE and no one would dare wake up, let alone HELP me lift that sucker that early!

Id say find an area with a good steep rake to it…but that uhh…kinda defeats the purpose if you’re loading it from your house, lol.

Any idea on an entry fee, etc? I’d love to get out there for some fun and a good workout.

Anyone know how to fix the dumb Birel Master cylinders? Friend has a Q31 and I’ve been itching to get back into a kart for some time now….only prob is that the master cylinder is all jacked up and won’t return itself once compressed
