ParticipantWow…crazy. Just 5 years ago I was racing an Easykart (haha, remember THOSE lol ) down at CRE.
Bummer to hear it…..the density altitude at that place make it a real workout in 100 degree heat (11,000ft DA saw once.)
It was a very fun track.Any word on why George closed it ( I can only assume).

I think you have Jim Clark mixed up with John Surtees. Surtees was the first person to win World Chamionships on motorcycles as well as cars.
Clark was amazingly quick. His record for the most pole positions stood for decades.
Charles
You’re right Charles, I did mix him up with Surtees, lol.

That’s hott. I love that new Ducati.
What do you think, Charlie? Want to help me build one of those 450’s? I guess I better start looking for that second job now.
Well, I actually know a kid with a CR450F already….RS3 front suspension….would just need a different frame.
The motor made 62hp with bad valve springs that wouldn’t let it rev out past 8000rpm. We think it would make 70hp.I think we could maybe put it together for less 🙂
Can you hang a plate on one of these? It would be sweet to cruise it around every once in awhile.
Charles Schendzielos
ParticipantDamn, those look sweet. 60hp wouldn’t be too much to ask out of a prepped CR450f motor either.
How about one of these Kirk?

ParticipantI thought it was just the PCA/BMW guys getting first crack?
Can’t wait to drive this track….hopefully I get some stuff together to get a car built.

ParticipantI really dug his interview.
Also, I really really liked his proposal of what should be done with karting as far as promoting it.
I think a big-name shootout that follows/travels with AMA Supercross, etc….to compete for a big purse would be kickass.
It would get it up on TV and maybe even ESPN….allow a lot of these guys exposure, etc.It was cool also to see Alan talk about driving school Formula Cars….and pretty much how uneven they (are) or can be.
I totally agree:)Sounds like a really cool guy. :usa:

ParticipantHopefully I can download that somewhere. One of my buddies from Philly is now racing 944 cup out there…said the track IS crazy narrow and it was hard as hell to pass. Hey…it’s Jersey!
Charles Schendzielos
ParticipantDamn I missed this….I’d love to see this series.
I could only imagine if BMW had a 335d car entered into Koni Challenge. 560lb ft of torque….I likey 🙂

ParticipantEasykart had a fast 125cc spec kart for $4k before the Euro went north and our dollar went south.
If only someone had the tooling to build a cheap, reliable 125cc or 100cc.
What are raw costs on an American made chassis? I see Pserra racing (http://www.pserraracing.com )makes a European one for $2400. That’s cheap, especially with the Euro-Dollar conversion. An American made chassis shouldn’t cost anymore than $2k period, otherwise whoever is building it makes a healthy margin on the product.
We should be able to make one right at $3k brand new. Problem is that there is very little margin, so why would a dealer bother, right?
$3000k for a 6.5 honda powered kart? Who the hell would buy it? It shouldn’t cost more than $2,000.

ParticipantAll I have to say is……………Thank God :rotate:
After rumors of PMI being possibly purchased/taken over, this is a big sigh of relief.

You could take the excess rubber and wipe it on your face and cheeks…..proudly claiming your territory to any and all takers……”FREEEEEEEEEDOMMMMMMM!!!!!” :usa:
