    What type/length/configuration of right side seat strut are most TAG Leopard drivers using?
    Mine just broke on right side and needs replacing.
    Currently strut is configured from seat to inner bearing cassette.
    Was told strut should ideally connect seat to outer right bearing cassette for best results.
    Dilemma is exhaust pipe is in the way of connecting to outer cassette which would require a curved strut for pipe clearance.

    Tried a 360mm curved strut but it is too long. Other standard option is 320mm curved strut which may be too short. Ideally need a 340mm curved strut which is not available from supplier.
    What is common solution to this problem?

    Larry,

    Sometimes you have to get a little creative with the clearance issues on the right side of the kart. You can start with a strut that is too long and form it to fit, flatten the end with a vise, hammer, press then drill your hole and cut off the excess. It may break the chrome but shouldn’t hurt anything.

    It would be better to try to run 2 per side if possible. Imi has a pretty good selection of seat struts you could probably get one that is close to start with.

    i am considering put a second set of struts on my CRG rotax also, but have the same problem.

    I only have one bolt on the inside of my cassette bearing (inverted triangle bolt pattern).

    Can I connect to the rear bolt hole?

    On the engine side can I connect to the inner cassette, which I run loose? Will have trouble geeting to the outside cassette.

    or

    Can I connect two struts in the same bolt?

    Need advice?

    Not recommended, because if weight is transferred to a point behind the rear axle, it will tend to unweight the front tires. Imagine someone jumping on your rear bumper – same thing.

    Again, not recommended. Trying to transfer weight through a point that is essentially floating is inefficient at best. I think it would also defeat the purpose of running it loose, as the strut would hold the cassette in place… and the whole idea behind running it loose is to allow it to float around a little. I don’t know anyone that’s tried this though, so I guess you could be the guinea pig…
