InactiveWell the Colorado boys are back home from Las Vegas.
When I get all the results for:
Myself
Dane Buckley
Seth Chapell
Tom Rossi
Duff Dyer
another one I forgotI will post.
Some comments:
*Las Vegas is the fastest track I have run on. I would guess that the Masters/Internationals were hitting 70-85 mph at the end of the straight!Yes faster than IMI and GJ
*I wouldn’t want to live in Vegas: Traffic sucks/wind blows/town is dirty
*I think The Denton, TX track last year had a better facility
*If you haven’t been to a National race–GO! It doesn’t mattter how bad you are. It is an experience of a lifetime
*Go a couple days ahead so you don’t feel rushed
*Bring a mechanic along with you
*The SSC guys were great under stressful conditions
*I hate racing at night-track was not lite very well
*Of course I lost on the slots
*Talk that next yr it will be at Newcastle in Ohio? Dates are set as the last week in September. CSC TAKE NOTE!!!Hopefully Tuesday night I will have the results. I am still recovering and unpacking.

ParticipantDon’t know how to clip the quote…
“I wouldn’t want to live in Vegas: wind blows/traffic sucks/town is dirty”
EASY TRIGGER!!!
The wind doesn’t blow hardly ever. The Las Vegas Convention and visitors Authority set it up that way so no more people will think about moving there.
Traffic sucks, it’s all those coloradoans and Los Angeleans escaping the weather and people
Town is dirty, well if everyone picked up ONE piece of trash then the town would be cleaner. These same arguements could be said about Colorado (except the wind)
Sounds to me someone is upset they got 86’ed out of Crazy Horse Too…
😆

Inactivemike,
you on it again!
Seriously, my comments was accurate. Out of the 7 days I was there it blew everyday except 1.
But you agreed with everything I said. That is why you are in Colorado and not back at the Crazy Horse.

ParticipantHey Rich,
Thanks for the report.
You missed a good race at IMI last weekend. I was so far ahead of Mike that he pretended to get a flat and pulled off.

ParticipantMust have been some pretty fast Rotaxians there for our troops to finish so far down the list. We have some good drivers with Diamond Dave, Seth, Dane and a few other CRE pilots. What happened to Dane?
To go and compete is always better than to stay home and what if it.
I hope that the Colorado Karters gearing up for the Supernats can bring home some Bling Bling. We are putting our “A” game together and hope to make a impact on those fast 80 shifter guys. Matt almost got into the high 52’3 with our Las Vegas/RBI set-up at IMI last Sunday. Our “Billet Bullet” motor is very angry right now, and want’s some Witt booty 😯

InactiveKurt,
Dane had the same bad luck that he had in Denton last year. He was in an agressive group of guys and was taken out in two heats on the 1st lap. He kepp working on his kart and as the week went along he got faster and faster.
You are correct in that there were a lot of fast guys there!
But the ones that went get the glory over the would of could of should of guys. Even Duff had a great time and will go again. Tom Denin and his dad flew out to be a lookie lou. He wished he was in his kart. It is an experience that all should shoot for.

ParticipantThanks Rich. I have spoken to Sean Gilmartin who sat on the pole for the final. He is pretty bummed out about getting nerrfed in the main. It was his to win and some bucket head took him and second place out with one dumb pass.
I guess that’s why they call it racing and not winning to quote a good buddy.October 22, 2004 at 9:14 pm #48681Tom Dennin
ParticipantCurt,
You might want to check the facts about what happened to Sean. In this case, I was sitting directly in front of where the incident occurred. Sean was the one who took himself, 2nd , and 4th out. He was in third at the time and made a bad pass attempt only because it took all of those guys out. If he would have made it through clean it would have been a great pass. From my vantage point, Sean’s kart was going away while others were coming in. You have to remember this was a 27 lap main. The forth place guy was the fastest at the time of the wreck. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Just to let you know, I know Sean and he is a friend of mine. He was the guy to beat all weekend. The weather was changing by the main for the international group.
Rich,
I think it would be in everyone’s interest to observe how things work at such a large event and then decide if it’s what you want to do. In my case, I took some notes on what I need to be prepared for next year. It was also a lot of fun just watching and knowing next year I will be part of the show. Hopefully, the nationals are not in Florida. I not a huge fan of the state. I would like to see it be somewhere truely on the East coast.

InactiveSean Gilmartin pitted across from the Colorado boys. I was surprised to learn that he was a Bandamire guy. Real nice kid and I was rooting for him and Acceleration Kart Racing. Him and the guys at Acceleration are easy to talk with and I did.
He was the guy to beat all the way. Musser played it cool and just laid back there and freight trained it until he got a break.
