Sorry we can’t make it. We will be in Florida for the winter tour.December 14, 2006 at 11:32 pm #55754Brian Robson
ParticipantDoug,
Unfortunately we can not avoid a conflict with a race in Florida. I looked into it, and this is the best date for our schedule. However we have scheduled another Enduro weekend in October. Our complete karting schedule for 2007 is available at http://www.gjmotorspeedway.com

ParticipantTwo questions:
1) Is there a maximum set of tires that can be used during the event? I do not see that specified in the rules.
2) On the entry form, the price of $165 for tires is for two sets?
I am in if anyone wants to either have me on there team or form a team. Sounds like a great time.
Thanks,
Tom

InactiveTom,
Hope you can make it. I have your old maranello/rotax signed up. Now if I can just get my 2nd driver to keep it on the track.

ParticipantYou may use as many sets of tires you want during the race. They must be MG FZ yellows (4.60 x 5 and 7.10 X5). One set of tires for qualifying, and you must start the race on your qualified tires (unless a wet start is declared)
The Pre-entry tires is for one set at $165.00 ( 2 – 4.6×5 2- 7.10×5)
Thanks,
BR

ParticipantBrian,
Would you consider changing the min. weight rule? Right now, the way it is setup it would penalize a lighter driver who might team up with a heavier driver.
Right now for a lighter driver and a heavier driver /kart combination to make weight, we would have to add a lot of weight to meet the min weight rule with the lighter driver on board. Then when the heavier driver gets into the kart to drive, they are at a big disadvantage.
Maybe compromize and do an average weight for the team, IE kart weight + driver #1 weight + driver #2 weight… then divide the total by the number of drivers and work out a fair weight for the package. That would let teams with lighter and heavier drivers minimize the amount of weight and still be competitive.

ParticipantThe weights are set fpr the February race. It is the median weight between SR. and Masters. This weight formula works for this type of event.
Keep in mind that strategy is a HUGE part of this race. Teammates, duration of stints, driver/stint combo, etc…… The goal and focus of each team should be “how do I finish a three-hour race?” The faster karts do not always win these races. The TEAMS that use common sense, preserve their equipment, and run a good pace will be on the podium receiving cash and prizes.
We are already receiving entries. Be sure to get your teams entry in soon. Hot pit choice goes in order of entry received.
Good luck everyone!
