ParticipantKirk:
I’m in dire need of a re-build and don’t think my motor would make the 3 hours. I was on borrowed time w/ my clutch at the last race at Centennial…
Let’s stay in touch and see what happens on this one…

Jeff broke (just kidding) the starter at the last race at Centennial. After all the racing was done, I was gonna let Jeff take his first ever ride in a TaG kart…Jeff got all geared up, sat down in the high-powered HARDkart and pushed the green button…the silence was deafening.
That was a huge bummer. 😐 I “broke” 2 karts that day! I guess this is not a good way to market myself to potential enduro teams. :rotate:
Lets do this!

ParticipantOh, so you guys all want to race, but, in the other guys kart! It will be an endurance race to see who can hold out the longest :loony:

on sharing their ride!Sounds like the perfect way to market those ‘long life’ 4 stroke TaG motors to the masses..hmmmmmmmm who has one of those??? Oh yeah, RICK has one of those!! Hell, if we’re going down that road…an Aixro would be a killer weapon for an Enduro. But now I’m just dreaming. We did say no rules, right?

ParticipantI’m all for it and possibly looking for team mates. If I get enough interest I might be able to get 2 or 3 karts together with openings. Anyone interested e-mail me at [email protected]

ParticipantWe’re in with a Cadet team if you run a cadet class?
November 21, 2007 at 6:37 pm #60140Curt Kistler
ParticipantPlease do not even consider running Cadets together with full blown TAG’s and Shifters for an extended period of time. This does not make for a safe environment for either party. It would just be a matter of time before someone gets hurt.
Thanks,November 22, 2007 at 9:10 pm #60141mweatherman
ParticipantSo it looks like there is some interest for this enduro. Is there anyone working on the details or are we all dreaming it up here? I will volunteer to help set this up, I say we get some of us together to work out the details and make an official race announcement SOON!
Some questions I’m sure many of us are asking:
How much $$$$
What Classes
What Rules
Pit stop/driver change rules
Hot/Cold pit rules
How long? TIme or laps?Lets get this party started!!

InactiveHey Mike, did you get my e-mail?
I’m up if you need a teammate.November 24, 2007 at 5:32 am #60143Uber Wagon
ParticipantAnyone consider doing this in the rental karts? Might have to bump the entry fee up a bit, but I bet participation would be much higher from new folks without karts of their own, or folks unwilling to subject theirs to the extra wear and tear (especially if there are snow banks in the infield.)

ParticipantNick, I like the idea with the rental karts alot. But more for the point that these enduro races just deystroy karts. I have some friends that like enduro’s, but dont like tearing up their equitment, so they wont race.
I really wasnt thinking about racing in it for the reason of saving my kart, but if were doing it with rentals, Im all in.
All right Kirk, you can stop worrying, you’ve been blessed, I will be your teammate 8) .November 24, 2007 at 4:45 pm #60145Brad Linkus
ParticipantRental Karts? Sure $3 per lap and you break it you buy it, no problem. Or we can use Jims and he can use it as a tax write off.

ParticipantYou know, if you set your kart up right then you realy wont tear it up to bad. Of course you and your fellow drivers will have to keep their noses clean and keep the kart on the track, but if you can do that, what else are you going to tear up?? Keep in mind that we are talking about 3hours worth of track time!!
A) How many sprint races would it take to acheive 3 hours of track time??
B) Consistency will win you the race, not fastest lap.
C) IMI realy isnt that tough on equipment imho. When I raced my SCCA car in an enduro, it was the easiest race on our equipment and the most fun we had all year. Despite being short 1 driver and running out of fuel after the first stint, we still managed to be consistent enough to finish 2nd in class.
For what it is worth, this is what I plan to do to my kart to make sure it goes the distance:
Gear down! Drop 500 to 800 off your regular top RPM and save the motor.
Mix the fuel just a little heavier on the oil and richen the carb a TOUCH to help lube and cool the motor.
If allowed, run a harder compound tire. Drop a few tenths per lap but save tons of time in the pits.
Soak a new chain (Panther Chain??) the night before the race and lube the chain at every pit stop.
New gears front and rear.Just my thoughts.
Lets get this enduro started!!

ParticipantHello everybody,
Apparently we have enough interest to make this happen. HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS DO YOU GUYS THINK WE NEED TO MAKE IT WORK?Now we need Brad`s and Angie`s help to set up rules, times, entry fees and their experience in puting races together. We also need to finalize plans for what charity we will donate to and what percentage of the money. I guess extra donations will be OK. BRAD AND ANGIE CAN YOU HELP US? :idn:
Thanks 😀 ,
