InactiveJust got into karting and trying to get a few other guys together for the Briggs World Formula class. There will be two of us for sure, maybe 3. But we need a couple more. Its a great class for 15yrs or over. This is a great way to get into the sport without spending tons of money. I got my cart and new engine for 2500.00. I have seen used karts for 2000.00′
Plus the motors are all equal so it will be about the racing and not the money… also CRE is set up great for 4stroke engines.
So come on guys.. lets do it.

ParticipantI think you can get a used Easykart for not much more. In my opinion a lot more bang for the buck. Just a thought.

InactiveWell, the cheapest I found an easykart for was around 3500.00. And you go thru tires faster and have to rebuild the engine more often. So over all money spent is still cheaper for the briggs.. granted the easykart has more power, but thats what I like about the CRE track, it tends to like tourque beter than overall HP.

InactiveWell, I see alot of you looking at the post?? What do you think?
Getting into karting at a resonable price, keeping maintenance cost WAY down.. tires will go three to four races instead of one, engine only needs routine maintenance every 40 to 50 hours if you take care of it…. The race field is equal because of true spec racing? I love racing, but I like to keep my cost down doing it. I know I am not going to move up to NASCAR any time soon, so I want to have some fun while I race.
The class is for 15 and over, so if your kids have been wanting to get into racing, this is a great starting point to keep cost down and see how they do. My oldest son will be 15 in June of next year, and cant wait to get into it. I am going to set him up with a kart late this year to start getting some track time at practice, so he is ready to go in June.
Anyway, I think this will be a really fun class and hope to get a few more people interested. My friend and I will be out at CRE on Sunday getting the chasis tuned up and some track time on the w/f engine. If you want to see what it does, come on out.. and George will be out there I am sure and can answer any questions.. he had some good deals on full Briggs w/f packages.July 7, 2006 at 10:17 pm #54264Anonymous
InactiveWell, I got another one that has a briggs w/f.. We just need a couple more. My friend probably wont get his for a couple of months, but if we can get two more, we could probably hit the last couple of races for the season.

ParticipantI’m confused. I visited CRE a few weeks ago, and I thought there were at least 3 people running WF’s – all women, actually. Was I just too dehydrated?

InactiveNo actually, there are 4 women in the class.. for some reason CRE wants to try to keep two seperate classes, men and women.. But I am going to ask the gals next weekend if they mind if we join in or not. They have been going at it all season, so I understand if they want to keep it an all girls class.

ParticipantTimberwolf,
CRE put up $1,000.00 cash award to the champion of the class this season to attract racers to help build the program and had none until Clara Toby, Angie Atkinson, Sara Schimmel and Nikki Cucuzza, a World Formula racer in 05, stepped up to take the challenge. It has enlivened the class and given the women a place to compete against each other. We have reduced the class weight to 320 lbs. to accomodate them. I don’t want to mess with the ladies efforts to establish a class for themselves, they have shown very good racing skills, talent and competitive spirit. Make that a LOT of spirit and good racing !!
Bring me at least four men that want to go mano e mano and you’ve got a class. The World Formula is a great package, that is low tech, at an affordable price for entry level racers whether they are men or women. We are considering the WF package to replace the Blue Wazoom in our Spec Jr.II class for 12 to 15 yeat olds in 07.
We appreciate your interest in and support of the W. Formula ! - AuthorPosts
