That’s why we don’t care when we give away all of our rights to be “safe”.
I know my rights….especially my 2nd Amendment. I’ll be damned if there will be an attack on this soil
without regular citizens being armed themselves (like me).Homeland Security is a Joke. That money should be spent giving body armour to the Marines and Army service men and women…..not calling 14 yr old kids about karting parts.
I guess we’re all just a part of the machine. Either get on board or jump ship….(if it gets worse, I’m considering the latter).
FYI, we are budgeting almost $50 BILLION dollars in “Homeland” Security. And they can’t even look to see WHAT is being purchased overseas, not the AMOUNT.
Guess thats what you get when you have SUITS running the country (and our lives).FY 2009 budget request for the Department of Homeland Security is $50.5 billion in funding; a. 7 percent increase over the FY 2008 enacted level excluding …

ParticipantHow much money is worth 300 million peoples safety?? If you calculate that it comes out to less than a set of kart tires for a govt. agency to ensure your safety along with everyone elses in the nation to the best of their ability….. How well do you sleep??? There is your answer…

InactiveThis is supposed to be the land of the free and the goverment is just using this homeland security crap to scare us all into stealing our feedom. If they would pull there heads out and stop sturring up trouble around the world we wouldn’t have to even worry about it. How long before we have no rights at all. Christ were not even allowed to vote for our own president. The US Government regime gets to pick, thats what the whole electoral college is for.
If you want my opinion our troops should be here protecting us not scattered all over the world helping people who really don’t care to have our help. You can sit here and defend homeland security and our government but until they stop sturring up trouble then all they are doing is causing more problems.

To be honest….I’d sleep a hell of a lot better if 150,000 troops were protecting us HERE and not 10,000 miles away. And to that argument of “fight them there, not here”. What the hell is stopping them from intergrating into our society HERE?
Did you see what just happened in New York? They can bomb us on buses, trains, subways, ANYWHERE!
And anyone things we’re actually SAFE?
What about that single crazy individual that almost got to our Gov. Bill Ritter and killed him last summer? What if he had a bomb strapped to him…..and a couple of buddies with Mack-10’s and full auto AK-47’s?
Safety is an illusion…..

ParticipantIf I were in your seats I would probably agree with you but I am not.. I work for the federal government and I will support what they are doing as I see and know more than what CNN and MSN reports.
