InactiveI sure would like to see some Defined, Clear, and Precise in Stone Rules that are Followed and Enforced by our CSC Body for next Year!!! I have been silent about this since Steamboat but would sure like to see someone stand up and make the calls when they?re something in question on the rules. We will settle for 2nd Place and be Happy with it but I sure don?t agree on how it was handled at 2 events were we were in Spec and others were Questionable and nothing done or looked at deeper by the powers to be at the Time and just say we will have to look at it better next year.
Bottom Line here is there were rules in place and if they were found to be out of spec then they there out of spec Period. I mean hell look at the Cooks they didn?t know the tires on the rentals were out of spec or did Brian Moore know he was either. All I can say is I sure hope we get what has been said at steamboat for next year to nip this thing in the bud now before we kill a Good thing we have going.
Thanks to all who stood up for us and stand behind us.September 28, 2004 at 2:09 pm #48166Angie MacEwen
ParticipantAs many of you know, I am the secretary/treasurer of the now official Colorado Sprint Championship. So, before you all start thinking that your comments are falling on deaf ears, or that Sam was blowing smoke in Steamboat with his announcement, let me clear things up for you…..
The “powers that be” of the CSC, which is the track owners working together as a group, along with the Race Director and Tech Director (when we find them) will be forming a Rule Book and procedures to enforce them. Not much has been said on the forum by the CSC in an official capacity because they are busy meeting and getting things lined out for next year and beyond, as well as finishing out their individual seasons. The CSC is done racing for the year, but each track still has races left (and we should all be out supporting them!)
There is no doubt that priority for the CSC is consistency in the series both in procedures and rules. I can say confidently that anyone who has made a habit of cheating, by any means (engine, fuel, tires, etc.) had better adjust their ways before next year – there will be rules, there will be tech, and if something is found to be illegal there will be consequences!
Racers will have a vote on some items, most will probably be decided by the CSC. I will try to post information as it becomes available on what is going on with the CSC as much as possible, so you can have an idea as to what is going on. All of your comments and suggestions that are made here will be discussed when the CSC meets about next years classes/rules.
If you have any questions, you can email me – I will do my best to help.
Arrangements are being made for the year end banquet and awards. The announcement of the details on that will be made very soon!
Thank You,
Angie MacEwen

ParticipantWe have our next club race October 10th, we will have the Mini Max’ available for anyone to try after the race, this would sure be a great chance for anyone on the fence to try it and see what the kids think. We are done by 1:30 so you would still have time to drive one and get home before dark… Let us know if you are interested. We are also offering great deals thru the end of the year on any CRG Chassis or complete package (Rotax, Moto ICC) Special year end price on New CRG or PTK cadet chassis with Mini Max motor package$3,995

ParticipantStacy your diligence has payed off. You have one more vote for mini max, and since you are a track owner maybe you can make it happen.

ParticipantAdd another. From my perspective the Mini Max would be the best solution for at least one of my sons next year.

ParticipantI’ll bring this back to the top of the list………….I think the Junior 1 class should remain a 4 cycle class. I believe it had more racers at almost every race than most of the other classes, why change something that is working and many have invested lot’s of time and money? The thing that will help that class the most is a tech director…..Not a new motor package!
I do believe some changes should be made in the junior 2 class, weight, motor package ect…….Let’s start talking about it now so we have a plan before the rules meeting.
Thanks

ParticipantI just read Freezeman’s post about the World Formula…….I vote for this to be the new Junior 2 class motor. A $1000.00 sounds alot better than the cost of a rotax.

ParticipantMikey, $1,000 this year, $1,000 next year, $3,000 the year after, wouldn’t it make more sense to buy a Rotax at $2400 that can be run for the next 10 years with minimal cost?

ParticipantMy only request
Pro 125 stay the same, ICC and Moto at 385, open tires, no FC engines.November 17, 2004 at 1:38 am #48175Anonymous
InactiveStacey what are you trying to do, bring sense to karting?! Good luck!
Both sides have some valid points, and I would gladly argue my opinion once again, but hey why not a compromise? Colorado to date, for certain classes, has been an experiment i.e., a hodgepodge, a definite rebel/renegade, a melting pot so-to-speak, so why stop that tradition now, why don’t we make a junior 2 class that consists of mini-maxs, pumas, 60cc easy karts and a World Formulas?? Look they are all close to each other in HP and all electric starts… Sure there still may be some hurtles, but it is a start and may just satisfy everyone’s wants??November 17, 2004 at 2:52 am #48176hotwheels1517
ParticipantLets make this real simple. RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG im for an ICC for junior 1.
